    Yes , the following happens to me ; before reading , be sure that I took in account everything on this thread which by the way is the only palce where I can hope to finda solution ; here is the situation ;
    1) at shutdown or restart , BSOD at the end of the process, that means that Windows has closed down PRIOR to log the event; the BSOD indicates the following wellknown IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL TO and Stop error :
    0x 000000A( 0x 000002F4, 0x0000002, 0x00000001, 0x806 FFA16) ; the minidump log refers to errors which are easily identifiable ; unfortunately THEY DO NOT refer to the right event , in particular , not the BSOD ;
    2)moreover when that happens (I mean BSOD) , ususlly the PC is really shut down , but it is not the case here , I have to close it manually ; restarting is of course forbidden at least automatically . Any idea aside restoring ? No restore point from the period former to this apparition is available ; I have a couple of other tools ,but If I had an idea about the failing driver , it would be of great help ; I forgot to mention that Microsoft KB gave me no indication on the significance of the stop error nor any Google search .
    Beside this very cumbersome situation , the PC Boots normally and nicely ; any work I Want to do is possible ; registry is clean as far as possible Thanks OLIVIER GEBUHRER

    I am sorry to hear that you feel that you have been treated unfairly on the BBS. I can assure you that this is not the case and we make every effort to resolve problems posted, but bear in mind that we are all volunteers, for the most part self taught and not professionals, We have various degrees of experience and can only give a definitive answer if the problem lies within that field of experience - in other cases we will research the problem and make suggestions where appropriate. The only people who will respond to your thread are those who feel that they have a positive contribution to make in solving the problem - and in this case it would appear that no one has that feeling.

    As a Moderator of the forum I try to point posters in the right direction if no one else has taken up the thread - we do not like to see threads with zero responses.
    I think the KB I posted was relevant and the starting point for trouble shooting.

    You seem very certain that the dump data you have presumably analysed is not relevant to this problem - I guess you have checked the time stamp on the dump file against the time of the BSOD? IMO any dump data is relevant as it is indicative of a problem.

    Why not use our Dump Data Collection tool to analyse a dump or two and post the results here - your call :)
