All these bsod's I am getting are starting with 0x000007#. # means different numbers or letters. Would this seem to mean there is definitely a problem with the memory?

0x000000f4 - Bad paging space or faulty ram
    0x0000007a - Faulty ram
0x00000077 - Run chkdsk and re-allocate paging space

    Hello Sportsaholic,

First, try recreating the page file - it may be corrupted:

    Right click My Computer
    Properties
    Advanced tab
    Performance
    Setting bar
    Advanced tab
    Virtual Memory
    Change bar

Highlight C and tick no page file.

Reboot and go back in and tick System Managed which will be 1.5 X your physical RAM.

How much RAM do you have?

    Regards - Charles

Copy the .exe and paste into a folder which then you put into the Program Files folder or anywhere else you want to put it.

At the lower right, click the Update button. That will update usage at the interval shown which you can shorten/lengthen. The program will write to a Notepad file (.txt) the results. This Notepad file will be in the same folder as he execute. To stop it, click the Update button - it'll turn into a Stop button. Click the Stop to start it again.

    Hello Sportsaholic,

As I thought, very little paging going on; to expand the size is not called for. You can run it every once in awhile to see how much usage there is, but I don't think size is an issue. You mention that you had paging problems, what were they?

I assume you re created the pagefile.sys Has there been any BSOD's since?

Have you tested the RAM? http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

    Regards - Charles

Yes, I used memtest and had it make 13 passes with no errors. Last BSOD was yesterday. Haven't had one today yet. So far so good.

I knew it wouldn't last I just walked away from my computer for 10 mins and I get the following 0x0000007a (0xc07c1720, 0x000000e, 0xf82e4384, 0x04333860). I appreciate the explainations but with all these errors, can someone maybe pin point it down to what the main issue would be, please? I appreciate any and all help.

    Hi Sportsaholic,

Looking up the error - this MS KB can't exactly pinpoint the cause either http://support.microsoft.com/kb/130801

I answered you in another thread on running HD diag, so one action to take on the Hardware front.

    On the Software front:

You can try to not have a paging file - but Windows is going to give you a fight about that.

Try running in safe mode and see if it happens.

If not, then startup bare bones and add apps back in. Maybe a particular process/app is causing this.

    Regards - Charles

    Charles,

To me that article makes it sound to me to be a HW problem. I am looking for a free HD diagnostic tool but i am unable to find one. My manufacturer is updating theirs for vista. Do you know of a free HD checker, please/

If you enter hard drive diagnostics into google - lots of hits.

    The major HD's
    http://support.mpccorp.com/diagnostics/hard_drive.html

    Another for various brands http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287

System Information for Windows will give you the specs http://www.gtopala.com/about_siw.html Its an execute and run - no install needed.

Win32 error 5 is Access Denied

Follow the instructions in this thread on dumps and see if it gets better:

It means the user dump is corrupted. Why do you access the DrWatson user dump instead of the minidump?
