When I start Internet Explorer 6 and go to my favourites and click the links...sometimes I get that annoying white screen telling me to try the refresh button.Sometimes I have to exit IE and start it again and click the link again before i get access to the sites.
    Any Ideas??:(

Try running the Internet Explorer Repair Tool.

bluenose12--If this happens only sometimes, it could be your ISP's server being temporarily down or slow. Not much you can do about that. (except complain!! :) )
But if this happens usually and over a period of days, does this happen only with links from Favourites, or other links such as those from an internet page?
If the latter, more general situation, you might have a look here

I've tried setting my Internet Exploere settings to the default.
    Will this make any difference?

BTW Where do I find the Internet Explorer Repair Tool?

With 9x and ME, to Control Panel\Add Remove Programs, double click the IE entry, a window will pop up, choose the Repair Option. Reboot when prompted.

With XP, there are a couple ways to do it.

One way to repair Internet Explorer is to have sfc check the system files by clicking on the Start Menu, then Run, and type in:
    sfc /scannow

    Or

Go to the Run dialog box in either 2000 or XP and type or copy and paste this line of code into the entry field - rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINDOWS\IE Uninstall Log.Txt " . If you are running 2000 and run IE5 then simply replace the IE6 with IE5.

Is it my imagination?...My Internet sites seem to open faster now.:)
The sfc check asked for my Win XP disk and it replaced dll files.
    Thanks
