I am using Windows XP Professional.

When I start Internet Explorer 8 it loads www.sympatico.ca as my home page but neither the text nor the images load. All I get is a blue screen, not a BSOD but a screen starting at the top as dark blue and gradually lightening towards the bottom. This can best be seen by loading the page using a screen resolution greater than 1024 x 768 which will show a blue strip on either side of the screen content and this is what covers my entire screen.

However, if I then refresh the screen it corrects itself.

If I start the Google Chrome browser it loads the same page without any problems.

I have done all the usual troubleshooting, ie virus, spyware checks and I have cleared the cache and everything else I could think of to clear but nothing has helped.

I certainly would appreciate any suggestions as to what may be causing the problem.

    Many Thanks.

    Thank You for the reply.

I had already tried that and it made no difference.

Well, I would first start with deleting the Temporary Internet files before trying anything else.

Had already deleted temporary internet files and that did not help.

I finally re-installed Internet Explorer 8 and this did not help but this morning the problem disappeared so I don't know what caused it but at least it has gone.

    Thanks all for the help.
