    Hi,
I have dialup service with AOL, and also with ATT for when AOL cannot maintain a reliable connection. I am running Win98 on a Dell XPS R450.
From time to time when I am running the AOL (with the AOL browser) I get locked up, and find that an Outlook window has been opened. The Outlook window is addressed to www.att.net, which is the homepage for my ATT service. I have to close this window to continue browsing. ATT uses Outlook as its dedicated browser.

I get the impression that there is a conflict ocurring, and that somehow
the Outlook browser has deceided that its time to start connecting. Is there
a setting change that can resolve this and prevent this competition?

Just as a note, if I open the Outlook browser during normal AOL operation, it functions fine. In fact, some websites work better with the Outlook browser than with the AOL browser.

Many thanks for the great website.

    Thanks!
    Mechanic

    Hi,
Yes, Internet Explorer, not Outlook. Sorry, about that.
