    Hello,

im going to be gettin broadband soon

i currently have dialup and a 3 pc network. my pc is the main which conencts to the internet this then conencts to a 4port netgear DS104 hub which goes to the other two computers.

now when i get broadband i want to be able to use the internet without any particular computer being on..

i might also be buying a laptop which will connect to the net but would have to be wireless.. can some1 explain how i would do this, i have a rough idea jus need 2 make sure,

Internet > Modem > Router > Wireless Network Point
+ from the Router to the Other Computers

    cheers

I would also like to do the same with my broadband connection and found the linksys site a useful starting place.

My telecom company has provided a free USB modem with the ADSL connection which plugs into a spare USB socket on my computer. I have also looked at the d-link site for other wireless products, but it seems that none of the routers have a usb connection that will power the modem. Am I wrong about this?

    Thanks

yeah, you need a modem that has an ethernet connection on it to connect to either the 'uplink' port on your router using a straight through ethernet cable, or a port on your router using a cross over cable, either way it will work.

I have seen routers with built in modems, what I need is a adsl modem/router/wireless access point.
