I have a usb drive that I have been using to sync between work and home computers. Both computers run XP Pro. I am using Briefcase on the usb to do the actual syncing. Now all of a sudden Briefcase will not open on my home computer, and crashes windows explorer. There is no error message other than 'this program is not responding'. But it still works fine on the work computer.

This may be unrelated, but recently when I reboot my home computer it always tells me it has found new hardware, but what it is referring to is a virtual box that has been there for at least a year. Could these issues be related?

What is going on and how do I fix it? Thanks.

I've never used briefcase except for a brief test 'back in the day'. But anything crashing Windows Explorer is usually due to 3rd party shell extensions. Start with my article Troubleshooting Windows Explorer Errors
