Boy Scout Win98 End of Support: Be Prepared !

Like many others 'round here
I still have a machine running Win98 first edition
which is close to end of support.

I DO NOT WANT TO UPGRADE
UNTIL MICROSOFT STORMS MY HOME OFFICE
AND BURNS MY WIN98 MACHINE
and who cares about missing "functionality "....

Question:
(How) Can I collect and store ALL updates
so they can be reapplied if I need to
renstall the operating system from the original CD?

I have seen hints here and there,
but no comprehensive how-to.
Is there one somewhere?
