Good one Hawk22, saves checking about power requirements

Your problem could be caused (is probably caused) by a clash with the previous software that was installed for your old graphics adapter.

Go to Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs and you will likely see a program for the old graphics adapter. You will need to uninstall it before installing the new one. [It should be in the instructions for installing your new graphics adapter, you uninstall the old graphics adapter's software, shut down, put the new graphics adapter in the computer, then start up and follow the (new) adapter manufacturer instructions to install the software for your new graphics adapter].

If you have trouble, tap, tap, tap the F8 key during the startup screens, that will send you to the Startup Options menu (I expect you have been there before), there you can choose "VGA Mode ". Run in VGA mode to make the changes (make sure the old adapter is uninstalled and then install the new one).

    Matt
