bootup problem

    Custom built computer.Was working fine.Suddenly no power.How can I check my power supply?

    Some new motherboards maintain 3 volts all the time even when off. This is to more easily utilize wakeup features.

    Never insert new cards into one of these with the power cord still in.

    So sometimes they get confused and will not come on! Smile!

    If this is your problem then just unplug for 30-45 seconds!

    Hope this is it!

    You need a meter and know how to use it for this or switch power supplies. Easily done in a repair shop!

    Hi mflynn

    Although I always unplug the box before I attempt to make any physical changes, this is good to know. Don't need the computer confused.... That's my job :)
