I replaaced the memory with a new 256 MB RAM. Also replaced the CMOS battery. No results.I reinstallled the same module in another bank, then I have the 3 beeps(bad memory). Now,I installled the same memory module in another computer, and it worked fine. What did I do wrong?

    Why did you change RAM?
The message "Checking NVRAM" is standard.
If the computer stopped working or something, please post exactly where it quit, and a bit about your hardware.

Looks like it's making it almost all the way through POST, but maybe hanging right at the end, or when initializing video or hard drives.
Have you been into the BIOS setup?
Are IDE devices all detected properly?

Dig through the motherboard manual, and reset the CMOS.
See if you can get past the error then.
