    Good Afternoon, Staff and members,
I have just installed and created a folder named BartPE to be used in emergency boot situations. Source:http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,63901/description.html?tk=nl_ddxdwn

A user review states: "This free tool lets you create a bootable emergency disc customized for your PC. Short for Bart's Preinstalled Environment, BartPE copies the Windows files from your hard drive or Windows Installation CD and creates a bootable CD or DVD that you can then use to boot into Windows if your installation of Windows gets trashed. It installs a number of basic drivers, so your mouse, keyboard and many network adapters will work. With a little technical knowledge, YOU CAN ADD other DRIVERS to the bootable CD."

An empty folder entitled drivers\SCSI ADAPTER suggests that storage drivers can be added to a new folder to complete the application package.
Question: what are storage drivers and where are they found in WindowsXP HE SP2 ?

I need some help with "storage drivers."
    Sincerely,
    scottdietert

    Hi Scott,

The term storage drivers is referring to any additional drivers your particular system may need in order to recognize some storage device that you have that is not normally found on the average system. You can ignore that unless you know that you have a SCSI drive or some type of Zip drive that you need to have access to when booting the BartPE CD.

It's a nice tool to have available and you are wise to build it before you need it. It will allow you to access your NTFS system files and give you full editing capabilities. It is a great tool in the hands of a user that understands the system well. It can be a dangerous tool in the hands of a beginner.

    Thank you surferdude2,
I appreciate your prompt and very clear response. :D I missed the connection that my Dell 4600 with its EIDE drive was excluded by default from this "storage drive" option. The differences between these two drives are a mystery; and I note that at least some laptops (I don't have one) have SATA drives!
I will "Googlize" these nouns and try to find some more information.
    Take care and thank you.
    Sincerely,
    Scott
