    Hello all,
I would like to know if anyone has any insight as to why burning my .iso file doesn't work properly.
I have a .iso file, which, when burned onto a DVD, works fine. However, if I extract the iso file and recreate the iso file, without any changes, and burn it onto a disk again, the disk doesn't boot properly.

Once I can get the CD to burn and boot properly, I want to remove some of the applications on the disk and replace them with newer versions of them.

I used IsoBuster v1.6 to extract the files and Nero v6.3 to make the .iso file.

Should I use a different application to make the iso file?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated,
    Thanx,
    ziggy2004

I used ISO-BUSTER and NERO 6.0.0.0 as instructed in the Windows XP Slipstream tutorial but Nero won't let me copy the files to create a new compilation.

It starts copying but after a while I get an "internal error" message. I click on "okay" and then Nero closes.

    Try MagicISO.

If you open the ISO file, copy the files out and then create an ISO you're not preserving the boot disk nature of the beast. Boot disks have to have certain data in certain places in order for the BIOS to recognize them as bootable.
