Had the system32 error...corrected that..defragged and optomized computer...seems much better..but I still get the black screen, requiring me to Hit F1 to continue...Please advise...
    Thank you,

    PS..
I also cannot get into my BIOS as well..my access is through hitting F10, which is impossible to do with this problem at hand...

I was advised by Compaq Help to Upgrade my BIOS..made an attempt, but when it came to getting out of the setup the commands I used..A:\exit would not work. Reboot could not happen. Any thoughts or suggestions on the command I should have used?
    Thank you,
    Eric

Never mind........Looks like I need to learn to read as well as spell.

Sorry, back to the thinking position.

Don't think I'm going out on a limb by assuming this is connected to the original posted problem of:

Just for F.Y.I. please remember to keep your threads together in the original post so others can follow what is going and what has gone on.

Can you quote the exact error message? Guess I shouldn't have edited my post when I started this thread. Looks like a Bios glitch.

I'm still backing out of this post as you were in far far better hands then I could hope to be in very long time. Newt is one of the very best. Hang in there.....
