I used a software name Tune Up utilities to check disk for errors and scheduled a boot time check disk. The check disk occurs but hang at 29%. I waited for about 30-45 minutes but it's just 29% I tried restarting, the check disk occurs but still freezes at 29% It shows a quick "Press any key within 1 second to skip check" but it doesn't work. Now my pc isn't booting. I tried to start in Safe Mode but check disk still occurs. Can I disable the check without booting the pc ? Or should I wait more ?

If it's the command-line utility you can cancel it with Control + X.

It actually went to 100% after a few restarts. Thank God. Some people say they had to re install windows to fix this. Anyway, thanks for the effort and thread may be closed.

    oops...Control + c.

Oh, and don't forget to disable that utility you were using. Better to use the chkdsk built into Windows anyway. Most of those utilities do more harm than good.

Actually TuneUp Utilities is one of the better ones... (Use it myself). But, yeah, you're right... :)
