Operating system is Wondows98SE. When I booted I got the error message
    While initializing device VKD:
    Windows protection error. Restart computer.
When I did this there was the message that Windows has not been started properly so start in Safe mode. I did this and the original message came up again. What should I do?

Thank you, Arie. The problem was that one of the keys was stuck down. After I loosened it, I was able to boot into safe mode and then restart.
