    Appreciate some assistance.

Need to download a boot disk w/CD-ROM support. Will be installing W98SE on hard drive. Any website recommended with a tried/tested good boot disk?

Had boot disk, but something has gone wrong with it.

    Thank you for your help.

    OUCH !!! That hurts.

It is not in the best interest of us PC user to have just one Boot disk. Make at least two AND TEST THEM ocassionaly

3.5 flopppies seem to be less and less dependable.

Lesson learned the hard way by Yours Truely also. But luckily I had another machine to make one from.

If you have a CD RW and a BIOS capable of CDROM boot, make a bootable CD. They are much faster and seem to last longer.

The software that I have ( Nreo ) can reflect either a Floppy boot or Hard drive boot. Haven't tried the HD yet.

But of coures you need a working floppy first.

If you have a Win98 CD and have the capability of booting to the cd-rom drive you can use the Win98 CD as the boot disk.

Isn't that just the Ful install CD ?

I have the upgrade CD and it sure is not bootable. There is not a system boot file to be seen on it.

:) Just had to try :)

    98 upgrade CD in drive.

    reboot

    CDROM BOOT Failure.

    Starting Win98

    Absolutely correct BB

In fact, with the full install CD you can boot to it and it will format your HD for you before installing Win98, as long you tell it to when it asks :)
