This morning I simply turned on my computer and went to locate a bookmark and the whole bookmark list is GONE! - even the default bookmarks! All that's there is the 4 options File, Manage, Bookmark Page, and Group Tabs.

Where did it go?? Can I retrieve it??

    Hi zzsos,

    With Netscape closed:
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to your *.slt (salted) folder.
See HERE for the Profiles Folder location for your OS.

Look for the bookmarks.html file, let us know if the file is there, and when opened in Notepad, or Wordpad, if your Bookmarks are intact.

Do you have a backup of your Profile for Netscape 7.0?

When you installed Netscape 7.0, were your Bookmarks imported from another program, and if so, which program?

The answers to the above questions will help troubleshoot your problem.

    Thanks!

thanks, Romana, for you quick reply. I found my bookmark.html and when I opened it there were "new" bookmarks that I had made today, but none of my old ones.

No, I did not make a backup profile when I upgraded to Netscape 7.0 (Today, I upgraded to 7.1)

No, I did not import my bookmarks from another browser.

    Hi zzsos,

So you are using the same Profile for 7.1 that you used for 7.0? If so, and your bookmarks.html file contains only today's Bookmarks, and you have no backup, then... my condolences. :( However, if you created a new Profile for Netscape 7.1, then you might still salvage your Bookmarks.

    Do a Windows "Find"
Start | Find | Files or Folder
for bookmarks.html, and see if you come up with more than one instance of the file. Can't hurt, and might help. Note that the file name is bookmarks.html. I noted that you typed it as bookmark (without the "s ") .html.

    Let us know...
