Hi, I am having a slightly disturbing blue screen error that prevents my computer from shutting down. It goes like this:

    IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    STOP: 0x00000000A (0X00000000,0X0000001C,0X00000001,0X804E1BE8)

    >My System: AMD Athlon X2 5200+, 2GB DDR2 RAM, WINXP SP 3, MSI K9N6GM, NVIDIA 9600 GT.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)
    See also ....

You receive a "Stop 0x0000000A" error message in Windows XP

Did you install any new hardware or update any drivers prior to this problem arising?

When you see this screen do you also see at the bottom of the page ....
Do you see mention of a driver on the blue screen - a .sys file?

    If not .....

I did install PowerISO a couple of days earlier, so I uninstalled it and ran a system restore to a week earlier--when I was sure the blue screen wasn't present.

Strangely enough this worked, as theres no more blue screen and my system shuts down normally now. What are the odds of it being hardware related, as my COM4 (modem) port malfunctioned the same night?

It is impossible to say as both faulty hardware or a bad driver could cause that BSOD. If the COM4 malfunction was transitory, i.e. it is now functioning correctly I would lean towards PowerISO.

If you like living dangerously re-install PowerISO and see what happens :)
