I have a Dell Dimension and it runs Windows XP. Everytime I try to shut down I get a blue screen with an error message that says IRW_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and a stop:0x0000000A(0x00000304,0x00000002,0x00000002,0x806FFA16). I have tried using rollback, uninstalling recently installed programs and nothing works. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to correct this problem?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    oiler9 - Welcome to the Board :)

Stop 0x0000000A or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL messages are generally due to faulty or incompatible hardware or software see here and Troubleshooting a Stop 0x0000000A error in Windows XP

Generally the blue screen references a file or driver which is causing the problem - do you see anything like that?

Take a look in Event Viewer (right click My Computer icon > Manage > Event Viewer) and look in System and Application for error messages flagged with a white cross on a red ground. Double click on the Error message to open and on the icon below the up/down arrows to copy to clipboard and paste here if relevant.

mrtRate Service is a part of Quicken

Aolunins_us.exe id the uninstaller for AOL

    aim.exe is AOL Instant Messenger

TrueVector Service is part of Zone Alarm or eTrust Firewall

The crypt32 error relates to Cryptographic Services which are an essential part o Windows Update.

I would not have thought that these would cause a Blue screen, but you do have a few problems with Quicken, AOL and your firewall.

Was there anything on the blue screen immediately following IRW_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL which related to a file of any sort, specifically a .sys file?
