    Hi all

Been searching for help re: computer crashes, and blue screen has happened twice recently to my PC. I found this forum and wonder if anyone can give me any advice? I have hopefully followed the instructions correctly, and have this data dump file:

    Opened log file 'c:\debuglog.txt'

Alba - Welcome to the Board :)

These logs require expert analysis which we do not possess on the Board at present. The best we can do is to make general observations.....

Your log (rather old? Tue May 8 09:52:53.000 2007 (GMT+1) ) indicates a problem with either QuickTime or Music Manager - possibly they are conflicting one with another. Uninstall both and see if the problem remains.

I would assume that you have not had a BSOD since May 8 - is that correct. Have you anymore logs to post?

BTW you should remain connected to the internet while debugging so that the appropriate symbols can be downloaded if required.

    Hi Pete

Thanks for your reply and I appreciate your comments. I don't actually know anything about these logs etc and haven't been on this forum long enough to have a good look around. I saw the instructions on posting a debugging log and thought it was the right thing to do!

My log must be a bit weird.... like the PC too just now! There was actually a crash last night (blue screen) And there has been another (BSOD) since I did the log earlier. I downloaded the tools this afternoon and ran them straight after that. It now appears to crash when msn is open, although that may be coincidence.

I am not sure what music manager is so will have a look for it. I'll try your suggestions, thanks. Anything is worth a try, I had presumed it was possibly a ram or hard drive problem at first, but had no idea how to find out what! Hopefully it's software related and I find the problem. I did check device manager and nothing is showing up there.

    A

P.S. where could I find more logs? Would the memory dump be helpful?

Rght click on My Computer > Properties > Advanced tab > Startup and Recovery > Settings ....

Select Kernel Memory Dump , accept the default location and uncheck 'Overwrite ....'

Presumably 'Automatically Restart' is unchecked, if not uncheck it.

Music Manager - part of a Nokia suite?

Thanks again Pete. Yes, had a surf and saw that music manager is part of Nokia Suite, which is installed in the pc. I will uninstall & reinstall it & Quicktime.

I will change the settings, I don't think I have Kernel Memory Dump selected but I do have Auto restart unchecked.

Should I post another log after the next crash? (if it ever happens again!)

    A :)
