Kevin - Welcame to the Board :)

Which Operating System are you runnig and which antivirus software are you using?

Suggest that you first do an online virus scan at Housecall - see Quicklinks in my signature and then post back with the results.

    http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/bloodhound.html

Bloodhound is a generic name given to viruses by Symantec Norton AV. It can detect and remove most of the ones it finds but cannot cleanly remove all that it finds because there are too many variables involved, e.g. it can only just identify the virus but because the virus version is different than others or has been modified from the original, it cannot remove it entirely.

    Removal instructions in link above.

I would have thought/hoped that ShieldPro - fully updated would have dealt with this.

    However try this approach ....

Download and run the trial version of Ewido. When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu ". Run Ewido and post the log here.

When the scan is finished and if anything is found the two buttons at the bottom of the Ewido window become active - View Report and Save Report. Hitting the Save Report Button opens a dialogue box asking where you want to save the report as a text file - it defaults to the Reports folder in Ewido in Program files. On saving the report it should open -copy and paste the report into a post here.

You mean that it would not run or that it found nothing the second time around?

That's fine - it cleaned up everything the first time around - as you would expect.

Pity you did not post the log so that we could see what was cleaned - is the virus still detected by your AV?

The log does not exist as you did not save it.

I am concerned about your screensaver showing a popup virus message - this can be the sign of other infections. What exactly does that message say?

I suggest you run an online virus scan at Housecall - see Quicklinks in my signature and post back with the results please.
