I have two teenage sons and I have recently noticed that they have been accessing porno sites.

What can I do to eliminate this? When I enable the content adviser it blocks all sites and they need to have the password to access even the regular sites so that is not a good option. Are there any others?????

    Thanks for the help.

Here's a list of filtering products. I've never had cause to use such a utility so am unable to give a specific recommendation.

There are lots of things you can try. Given the nature of teen age boys, probably none of them will work too well though. And even if they do, with books and magazines available for sale, it will just cost them more.

Thus speaketh a man who was once a teen age boy himself and who has since raised 4 boys into adulthood (thank goodness :D).

    Anne,

I too was a mush brained, hormone driven teenager as were my four boys. I'm sure that you have found by now that the best way push them toward something is to deny them that something.

I can assure you that what they need now is guidance and not so much shelter. The shelter days are pretty much over at age 8 or so.

Bring the subject out in the open, your kids will love you the more for it, and be thankful it's not bomb making sites they are visiting.

I don't think there ever will be software controlled access to anything but there will be a lot of people who will claim to be able to (after they collect your money).

    Been there..
Raising 7 children (5x boys, 2x girls) there is never an end to.. how to, did what, what now. When it comes to the computer, I've learned the best filter tool is a table...... sitting in the middle of the busiest room in the house (except the bathroom). With the computer out in the open, good judgement is practiced by all. Filters can help, but learning to live in a world full of vices can not be taught by a computer.
