When I compose mail I use the contact sidebar. When I add the "To" address I simply click on the address to whom I want to send the email and it's done. The CC works fine too since there is a CC button (along with a "To" button) beneath those contacts. BUT... the Blind Copy button is not there and I'm forced to either click the To button or the CC button and then go over and right click those addresses to change them to Blind Copy. Is there a way to add the Blind Copy button beneath the address sidebar? Thanks.

    Hi James,

I seldom use the Contacts sidebar, but I see what you're talking about. However, if you right-click on a name in your Contacts list (assuming that you're talking about Tbird), the context menu gives you choices of "To ", "Cc ", and "Bcc ". That should do it for you, and you don't even have to use the buttons. :)

Personally, I think Westside overstates it ... it's like saying "Beware of the Bogeyman! ", or "Beware the Ides of March! ".

Hundreds of extensions have been written for Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox, usually because the authors have some particular need that the browser, as written, doesn't meet, but most of us have no need for the great majority of them. A few are quite useful, but they need to be selected judiciously. Some don't work with various themes, but I use FF's default theme, and have had few, if any, problems.

I have six presently installed in Firefox, but I consider only four to be really essential ...
    1. Tabbrowser Extensions
This much-maligned extension isn't endorsed by Mozilla.org, but it really increases FF's tabbed browsing capabilities. It's updated frequently, and older versions may prevent new versions of FF from opening properly. Unless you know what you're doing, use it at your own risk.

    2. Launchy
Launchy works with both Firefox and Thunderbird, and opens poorly written webpages (that don't open or display properly in FF) in Internet Explorer or any other installed browser.

    3. PrefBar
This extension has lots of built-in features, but I keep it installed for only one reason ... with one click and a reload of the webpage it gets rid of the hideous colors and wallpapers that make some webpages so hard to read.

    4. FlashGot
I have this extension installed only because it allows me to use a shareware download manager that has more features than FF's built-in one.
There are, of course, many others, most of which can be found at The Extensions Mirror.

The Ides of April are coming up, on the 13th. It may be a bad day for extentions. I was just kidding. I have my share of extentions, but I like to know how they behave before installing there (I usually don't). I agree about your 2 and 3. I know of a fellow who have been installing every extention ever made available. He also did not believe in updating them, with obvious consequences, since he believed in updating the program. Each one has different reasons and uises of extentions. I like the user agent switcher which allows me to select any user agent I wish. Till recently, at least, Yahoo sites like Launch did not accept anything more advanced than NS7.1. I don't have 7.1 installed, but 7.2 could run Launch, etc, etc.
