I want to upgrade the processor on a VTech Laser Platinum NRV and want to know what the appropriate jumper settings on the mother board should be.
The processors that I have for the machine are:
    AMD K6-2 400 (Socket 7)
    Cyrix 6x86 MX PR300 (Socket 7)

The motherboard and manual predate these processors so the jumper settings in the manual are likely to be different.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Look real close at the mother board. On many Socket 7 or Super Socket 7 boards you will see a table of jumper settings printed on the board itsself. These are often sorted by processor speed. Also look for a jumper for automatic detection. For some reason in many cases Socket 7 boards are labeled much better than other boards. Probably due to the variety of processors they can handle.
