On 3rd February cspgsl posted as follows:-

"blank emails arriving [in Outlook 2003]
    Using Outlook 2003 on XPP

I have started to experience completely blank emails arriving when I first open Outlook in the morning. This is the only time of day when this happens. Some days it is 2 or 3, some days it is 7.

There is no subject, no message and the header is completely blank. I have my email accounts set to leave a copy of the message on the server when downloading and when I look at my mail server these messages are not there after the send receive.

Baffling to me but hopefully not so someone else. "

I don't have an answer to this problem but at least cspgsl (in Canada) and I (in UK) are united in our bafflement!

I am using Outlook 2007 via a windows Live Mail account. For the last 2 weeks or so I too have been receiving emails where the sender and topic are blank. I haven't had the nerve to open these messages, so I don't know if there is any body text.

Before making this post, I searched and found cspgsl's post (too old to quote) and clearly this is NOT specifically a problem with Outlook 2003 and logic would dictate that others are experiencing the same thing. I'm not sure if it's a problem at all. I run daily checks with MBAM, MS Essentials and SAS and have found no threats, but that is not to say it's not an ambush.

There was no response to cspgsl's post, but under the circumstances it might be worthwhile for someone to direct their mind to it.

    Not really a security issue.

This is apparantly an issue with the Outlook Connector. From what I've read, the issue gets resolved by upgrading to Outlook Connector 14.
