I just built a computer and trying to install Windows XP Pro with SP2 and the computer will boot and run throught the setup of prations and starts to install. It will make it to the reboot and it will reboot and then enter another setup and it says aprox. 39 min to install. A green status bar comes up that says installing devices the green bar will be about half way filled with 35 mins remaining and a blank blue screen appears? Help me any ideas? I have this brand new computer and it is bugging the heck out of me i want to be able to use it.

    Thanks
    Kevin

Hi Kevin welcome to the BBS.

Have you tried following the instructions in KB 811267

These problems are particulary difficult to diagnose as the system is unproven (ie a new build) and there may be an underlying hardware issue.

I'd start with removing everything bar the bare essentials, then trying the install. If it works start adding your hardware back one thing at a time.

EDIT: Actually KB 828267 may be more relevant

As far as removing everything but the bare essential i have done that plus.

    I have tried:
    -Different Hard Drive
    -Different CD Drive
-I have two sticks of 2 GB RAM removed one didn't work remove the other and but the other one in.

And as far as removing PCI cards i don't have any installed(Graphics and audio cards are intergrated)

I will try the instructions that you sent and see what I can do with that.

    Thanks
