Blackberry version 3.6 and Exchange

Howdy all.....we are implementing a BES on our network and want to use Windows 2003 member server, but, we are currently still using Exchange 5.5 for email and this is not compatible with the 2003 OS (this is important cause the Exchange 5.5 admin tool needs to be installed directly on the BES). So, my question is why does the Exchange admin tool need to be installed on the BES? Is it CDO? Is it another component? If so, can these other components be intalled without having to install the Exchange admin tool and still enable the BES to function properly?

I think Blackberry would be best able to answer parts of your question. Especially the 'whys' of needing various components of Exchange to run on the BES server.

And while Exchange 5.5 itself will not run on 2003, I can't find any solid information about the admin tool part of it. Possibly it will run on that platform even though the server itself will not. Again, my guess is that the Blackberry support folks will have an answer.
