Resolved Black Toolbars in Internet Explorer 8

Hi,
A friend of mine got a virus and I posted a thread "XP Security 2012 Virus." We worked very hard getting rid of this virus (thanks to Broni) and the computer was finally clean and I returned it to my friend.

Now my friend is calling me about another problem. When he opens up Internet Explorer the toolbars on top are black and some of the names, such as File, Edit, View, etc. are missing. But then again once they were normal.

I did research on the internet and think I disabled some of the Add-on's.

But tonight he called me and said the toolbars were black again.

I just don't know if the virus could have caused this problem but any help you can give me to correct it would be most appreciated.

I just want you to know that my friend has tried changing the theme and turning off all add-ons. If this doesn't work we'll dig deeper.

I will update you in a couple of days. I have out of town company for a few days so won't have time to deal with this but will get back shortly.

I'm assuming the fixes that I email'd him worked as I haven't heard a word from him. I'll close this thread and thank you for all your help.
