Black screen, mouse pointer, winXP starup

    New user here, updated Norton received Virus warning message, found virus in C;\windows\system 32\msthost.exe

    service.exe
    lssas.exe

    followed directions, rebooted in safe mode
    deleted these files
    Now the comp stats up, WinXP screen comes up 2 x
    then goes black with mouse pointer, hard drive seems to stop completely.

    Tried safe mode, nothing
    Debugging mode, nothin
    VGA mode, nothing,
    reseated video card, nothing
    Cant get into setup mode, password protected,

    Help!!!! How do I fix this, or is time to dump and go to MAC
