Resolved Bitdefender Registration

    Installed Bitdefender Free, it updated and is scanning, everything is working good except when I try to register it I get an error message, "the connection to the server failed, product cannot be activated ". Any ideas ?

    Hi Claw. Have you tried booting the computer into Safe Mode with Networking to see if the program can be successfully activated? I've seen this problem happen to many users of Bitdefender but there is no known solution other than to use a different security program all together if you can't activate the program.

    You may want to contact BitDefender Support to see what they have to say about this issue.

    Hey Evan, thanks for replying so quick. I've tried everything including Bitdefender support for the last 2 days. I think I'll opt for the "different security program ". Thanks again, and take care.

    Ok then. Do you need any recommendations or do you already have a replacement security program in mind?

    BitDefender Free seems to be a little buggy. Mine just couldn't update ! Ditched it & went to Panda Free.

    Hey Evan, and rsinfo, I'm really a safe bet when it comes to web surfing. I'm an admin on a facebook page and I try helping out of forums if I can, so a light AV with decent detention works for me. Bitdefender Free seemed to really keep my PC very responsive, I've used it on other computers that I've had always without a problem until now. I think I may give the newest version of Panda Free a shot and see what happens. Thanks for all the help, it's very much appreciated.

    Right above your original post there is a menu heading Thread Tools if you click on it you will see a drop down menu. Scroll down to the last item on the list click on it and that will mark this thread as Resolved. If at any time you want reopen this thread follow the same procedure and you will be able to remove the title prefix of Resolved thereby reopening this thread.
