    Hi there,

Can anyone help me out? I have this friend's motherboard and he would like to install a 20Gb Hdd in the system. The problem is that the system refuses to boot when the 20Gb hdd is connected. Although it correctly identifies it, it then stops booting altogether. I have partitioned the 20Gb in 8, 3.5, 3.5, 3.5 partitions but it did not fool the mobo. All searches to try and find an updated bios for this mainboard failed to get me any results. The mobo is made by San Li and all links from Driverguide to their website are down.

    Tnx a lot Rockster.

Apart from the chinese I had already been to that website and all the drivers that say "586" I tried to download but the links are all dead. Thanks for the help anyway. I only hope that these "small time" producers of components do keep at least a small part of their promise of greatness by at least offering good support. What a load of BS's the internet is full of. Of all the support I have looked for on the net the San-Li or SuperPower is by far the worst I have ever encountered. All BIOSes that I have found are for the Award type of BIOS not AMI. This stupid mobo is probably the worst I have ever encountered!

Thanks again for your time and help.

Have you considered using an IDE controller card (Promise or similar), if you fail to find a BIOS update?

When all else fails ...... You might want to try emailing jack@badflash.com

He's the guy I head to for bios chips and he just might be able to locate the bin file you need. Yes, you'll need to buy a chip from him, but this is one great resource. Highly recommended.

    ;)
