(I hope I posted the right place.... Please move the topic if I've posted wrongly)

Last year my pc exploded with no reasons..... have to change power supply and WHOLE motherboard......( Thats why there are some changes in System Specs :))

Problem exists after changing the old Acer motherboard to SAMSUNG Motherboard ( I don't know the product number). When the computer is NOT TURNED ON for a few days, the bios beeped, then it prompted me to press F2, which brings me to BIOS setup. I have to key in the right time and date, and even change the BIOS language to English ^^lll ( The default language is Korean) I have to do that CONTINUOUSLY as I turn on only 2 days a week.

Can anybody tell me what had happened to any parts of the motherboard?? I dont want to do such annoying tasks again!! :(

Sounds very much like the CMOS battery is dead, without knowing more details about the board I can't say for certain but the majority of boards use a CR2032 button cell or equivalent.

See cmos battery pictures for examples.

Hmm, wondering how long it's sat in the warehouse etc ;)

Replacing the battery is the best initial step and it doesn't cost too much.

Hmm okay I'll replace the CMOS battery after I go and buy a new DVD-ROM reader.......
Before I mark this thread as 'resolved', Can I do something to prevent bios from resetting?? (such as downloading softwares etc)

The battery is pennies (at least here it is), no software will resolve the issue. The only other cheap fix I can think of is a clear CMOS jumper set in the wrong position but without further details of your board (see your other thread) I can't help.

Until Man can create perfection, there will always be products that fail prematurely. It is not common these batteries die early, but as noted, it could have been on the shelf for a long time, or you could have just got a lemon. Hopefully that is it because if not, and the jumper is in the right position, then another component on the motherboard has failed. Possibly the CMOS chip itself, or some other device in the CMOS circuit is shorting the "holding" voltage to ground, causing the CMOS to lose its data (the custom BIOS Menu settings).
