I've been given a bin file to burn to disc. My questions are:

    1. I thought bin files were always accompanied by cue files. This one isn't. Could it be missing or is a cue file sometimes unnecessary?

    2. I have no way of telling if it needs to be burnt to a CD or DVD. How to tell this? It's about 730mb in size.

    3. If if IS meant for a CD, (which I always thought was limited to 700mb) how does the excess data fit on the disc?

    Thanks

You're right, a .BIN without a .CUE file is pretty much worthless... however!

You can find BIN to ISO programs off the net (you do not need a .CUE file for this). Run that and burn the ISO image. In order to make that extra space burn, either use a DVD or If you have nero, you can use the over-burn option which adds a few extra MB to the disc, however it increases the likelihood that you're making yourself a Coaster/Frisbee...

Also would like to point out that burning copyrighted images of CD's can be illegal and I'm sure this site would not condone such actions. Please use the above tip for legal burning purposes only.
