    Hello Eveybody:uhoh:

I messed up Internet explorer. on one of my colputer (Using Windows XP)

    How , I do not know :4-dontkno

I cleaned my system, to try to get the system working faster and if the whole computer speed improved , when I tried to go to Internet , I get the following messages:

    1°: Search Setting installer

Search setting will now close all instance of Internet explorer before continuing. Click continue to proceed.

    Then 2°: Search Setting 1.1

The feature you are tying to use is in a network resource which is unavailable.

Click OK totry again or enter an alternate path containing the installation package "Searchsetting.msi" in the boxbelow.

Not knowing what to do I clicked OK and got:

    3°: Search Setting 1.1

Error 1706: No valid source could be found for product Search Setting 1.1 The windows installer cannot continue.

To add to this problem, when I try to restore to a previous date, it does not work whatever the date is: "Cannot be restored" is what I obtain....:sigh::3-sick1:

    Thank you for any help

Reese - Welcome to the Board :)

Run System File Checker - you will need your XP CD which must contain the same Service Pack (SP1, 2, 3) as your system is running. To save me typing see here ....

If that does not work we need to know the version of XP you are running - SP1, 2 or 3 and the version of IE - 6, 7 or 8 beta.
