I am running Win XP and my Zone Alarm pro has expired. I am looking for another firewall...I really don't like Zone Alarm and wondered what the consensus was on the best firewall?

I've no plans to upgrade to Vista.

You will get a great variety of answers to that question :)

For my part I would recommend Comodo - freeware and recently updated and is now compatible with all flavours of Vista and XP. I use this on my laptop and Vista Business computer.

Until recently I also used it on my main desktop (XP), but have recently changed to Eset as I have used their AV - NOD32 for some time.

    Hello DWFII,

    Comodo forums: http://forums.comodo.com/

I concur with Pete, the FW as far as catching malware trying to connect outbound is unmatched - this firewall was built around leak tests I think :)

If you dislike ZAP because of the behavoir popups, Comodo is no different, probably surpases ZA in that regard.
