   I would like to know what codec package is best for Windows Vista. We can't play any videos on the laptops and receive a codec error message. I'll continue to check the Microsoft website.

   Hi brimis. I am glad that you were able to answer your own question.
   
   If you want a good recommendation for a good codec pack though then you can try using the K-Lite Codec Pack. I've been using that collection of codecs for years and I haven't had any problems.
