A customer of mine has 2 HP printers, a LaserJet 4l and a DeskJet 842C. They are connected to a Dell PC through a Belkin 2 port Parallel AutoSwitch. I have the LaserJet on Port A and the DeskJet on Port B. I have the updated drivers installed for both printers as well as the switch(am using WINME). She want me to do a re-format yesterday at which time BOTH printers worked fine. Now the LaserJet prints what you tell it too but then prints about 15 - 20 pages of one line "junk characters ". The Deskjet works fine and has no problem with "junk" pages. Any ideas on why?

I have emailed HP and Belkin but have gotten ne response yet (no surprise).

    Thanks

    Jerry

Try looking into the PS vs. PCL driver(s). Uninstall the one you currently have and install only the PS (Post Script). ME is picky 'bout that sometimes.
