I just recently replaced my PC with a new one. I have stored my old PC for possible future use without replacing the internal battery. My question is should I replace the battery now or wait until I use the old PC again? If I wait and the battery dies, what problems can I expect when I do fire it up.

    Thanks for any help.

I don't think it will make any difference. If you replace the battery now you will lose your bios settings and if the battery goes dead you can expect the same. Either way you will have to set your bios up the way you want it afterwards. If everything is set to the defaults it won't really matter. If you aren't sure, you can hook the thing up again and enter your bios setup and use the print screen key on your keyboard to get a print out of each section (for mine to work I have to hit the printscreen key twice for some reason) so you have a record of everything. If your print screen key doesn't work (some don't) you will have to write it all down. If the computer is several years old and you don't plan on using it for a while I guess I would go ahead and change it now and then set things up the way they are supposed to be right away (just in case your print out manages to sneak away from you while it's put away).
