:confused:I have a friend laptop which is having a charging problem.
It is a Dell Inpspiron 1318, Model PP25L which is under 1 year since he has it.
The charging indicator is saying no battery is detected and the battery meter is saying The system cannot communictae with the battery. All indication is for a new battery. My confusion is the lifespan of the battery if that is the problem.

Probably better start communicating with their online support now before it might run out of warranty. The battery might not be covered by warranty though, so your friend needs to look up that information (it can probably be found on their website).

Dells computers can be modified from standard, so you will probably need to look up it's Service Tag. They tell you at their support how to find it.
