    Hi guys...

I hear there's supposed to be an "NS7.01 base" officially from Netscape... does anyone know what that's all about?

Is it (I hope) an install that allows to one to install Navigator w/o the email program?

I need it for Macintosh or I'd use the streamlined Windows versions available.

    Thanks in advance... :)

    Hi Dreambird,

What a treat to see your name come up!

Yes, there is an official Netscape Base Install, but to the best of my knowledge it is only available for Windows:

It's a stripped down version of the full package, and only containing the necessary components:
    Navigator
    Mailnews
    Spellchecker
    Quality Feddback Agent
    AOL Art Extensions
    Flash player
    HP Printer plugin
    Classic Skin
    Canadian region pack

Unfortunately the Custom install doesn't give you the option to disable Mail & Newsgroups! :( It still has some AOL junk, and AIM is default, as it is required for use of Netscape.com Webmail.

Antony hasn't mentioned anything lately about a Mac Version of 7.01.

Don't be such a stranger, as we miss you.

    Ramona :D

Thanks Ramona... I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to this... :(

I kinda figured this was only a Windows thing... oh well, it's OK... I can weed the stuff I don't want out manually. The Mac version luckily doesn't have nearly all the stuff with it.

I "will" try to drop in more often!
