Base-64 Randomized

    I'm thinking of storing information using the base-64 encoding. By randomizing the conversion string ([A-Z][a-z]/+) I'm hoping that the data will be fairly secure. Does anyone have any opinions on that?

    That would be pretty lightweight obfuscation (note i dont say encryption). Its going to keep joeuser from looking at the data, but a programmer can write a little decoder that would fly right through it.

    Have you looked into using the built in cryptoAPI?

    If the programmer knew the translate string, it would be easy. But I scrambled the string, and wonder what that did to the complexity of the problem. For anyone who'd like to give it a shot, here's a coded message:
