Resolved bad pool header

    my pc is running on win 7 ultimate with 4gb ddr3 ram . on the very 1st day (last week) , it already shown the blue screen with the message "bad pool header" & it will happen almost everyday . i have use the hiren boot cd to check the ram & hdd & they passed . so now i have no idea what to do next , please advise . thanks

    last week i also removed the router , graphic card & the ethernet card but its still the same so i removed the newly install AVG IS 2011 & THERE HAS BEEN NO BLUE SCREEN UNTIL NOW (5 DAYS ALREADY) ! hope this is the real cause of the problem & not pop up the blue screen again .... :)

    Thanks for the update - there are plenty of alternatives to AVG which don't cost a cent :)

    Microsoft Security Essentials which incorporates Windows Defender is highly recommended as is Avast. You will find that the Windows Firewall is adequate.
