I am trying to back up my computer to an external hard drive. The files appear to be crossing but have been for 2 hours showing the same file dbc2e.ht1. Can anyone shed any light on this and why I can't back up.
    Thanks

dbc2e.ht1 is one of a series of files created by Google Desktop with which I am not familiar and on reading this would definitely steer clear of .....

Google Desktop as a Source of Digital Evidence

It would seem that the files can be extremely large so if you are running USB 1 as opposed to USB 2 (40x faster) it could take a long time.

Clue here - is the hard drive light flashing? If it is then transfer is presumably taking place.
