Backup software that's bootable?

Good afternoon everyone,
My mother in law has just gotten a new laptop for her job, and I want her to be able to do EASY backups, preferably the whole drive that can be bootable. I'm using a Maxtor OneTouch mini, but the onboard software leaves much to be desired.

Now, I am a Mac and Windows user, but primarily use my Mac; I'm using software on that that does a differential backup (any files that have changed since the last one), every morning at 2am. It also makes the external drive bootable, so if my hard drive goes south (which it did at one point) I can work straight off the external, then puke its contents if I had to buy a new drive.

Is there ANY Windows-based backup software where she doesn't have to know much about the OS (and backups themselves)? I'm using Stomp's BackUp My PC (powered by Veritas I think), but I think that software's a little too involved for her.
