I would like to back up my hard disk and would like your suggestion on how to go about this. This is a new computer that has been upgraded as well as I have uploaded many of my files/software from the old one. Any suggestions would help.
    Thanks
    Claire

The best way I have found to do this is to have a second internal hard drive installed in your computer. Then you can use a program like Acronis True Image to do backups of your C: drive to your D: drive. This program can be set to do regularly scheduled back ups or you can do them manually when you want. It will also do full backups (images) or just incremental back ups. I have used it and also Norton Ghost and this program is much easier and faster. Also, Norton Ghost really messed up my last PC because it set up a virtual drive during the restore and then had a problem during the execution and locked the hard drive in a permanent state of "virtual drive ". I have never been able to get that hard drive to even boot up and lost everything.
