Backup... boot disk

    just backed up my Gateway w/WIN XP Home.... total system... to reboot to this point in system, do I need a boot disk? ... & must it be on the same HD as the clone, or can it be on a separate disk? tx

    What software did you use to make the backup?

    You will need a boot disk - on CD, so that the computer can be booted from the CD and the programme pointed to the location of the image to be restored.

    Tx for the quick response... I used EaseUS Backup Workstation 6.1... did System Backup to a Toshiba 750GB external HD... should I generate the boot disk on the Toshiba HD or on a separate CD (DVD)?? tx

    As I posted - on CD....
    Check out the Easus manual for info regarding boot disk creation.

    I use Acronis and have no knowledge of Easus.
