Considering that the 3 1/2" floppy is finally dead I need to ditch a drawer full of old floppies.

I'd like to back-up/save the data on the disks since they contain a variety of old docs, images etc as well as some old (DOS) programs/games etc.

Backing-up the doc and image files etc to a DVD is easy but I'm wondering what to do about the floopies that are a) bootable and b) that are spanned across multiple floppies.

In the case where the spanned floppies are basically a big file saved across several floppies I'll obviously need to re-build the original large file (on my hard drive) then save that file to the DVD.

So that leaves figuring out how to save/store the (single) bootable floppies to a DVD (as some kind of an image I would guess) - and also any multi-floppies that may be an 'installation set' for a old program or game...

Appreciate any good advice and suggestions.

Thanks Mattman for the suggestion, which helped get me pointed in the right direction.

I would up using MagicISO which provided exactly what I was looking for.
