backing up registery

    i have backed up my registry from another computer and have the hard drive in slave on another computer. can i restore the registry on the slave drive without affecting the computer that is being used to restore it?

    If you just double click the 'REG' file, it would be merged with registry of the computer on master hdd. If you have backed it by other means then you should look at the docs of the utils.

    no.

    the reg is associated w/ the system drive and, in u'r case, the slave isn't system.

    ok so i cant fix the registry on the slave hard drive. is there any way to edit the registry on the slave HD without having to load it as a master drive?

    I haven't looked closely at the articles I posted, but I believe it can be done. Unfortunately I don't have the time to test it for you, so I suggest you give it a try.
