    Hello,

I am curious, I know that in Win98 SE there was a utility for backing up files in
START~ ALL PROGRAMS~ACCESORIES~SYSTEM TOOLS~BACKUP . I do not find anything like that in XP. I am still navigating XP as I am fairly new to it.

I use ATI 8.0 Imageing software for backups of my whole C: and it is set up to run automaticly once a week right now at a certain time, but I want to set up a seperate backup for just certain file folders on the C: daily and I thought it might be easier to to just use a utility that was built into XP if there is one so not to interfer with my weekly backup of the C:. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Hi FireDancer!

One of the first things to learn is to differentiate between Pro and Home. Quite a lot of fetaures in Pro, don't exist in Home or do not get installed by default.

I'm on Pro and have a backup utility in the spot where You were looking. If You're on Home, check the CD to see if the backup utility is there but not installed by default.

The Windows XP backup utility is located (in XP Pro) in the C:\Windows\System32 folder.

Open Start > Run and type ntbackup. If the utility exists in XP Home, it should open.

    Hi FireDancer,

On Home, it's on the XP CD: Valueadd\Msft\Ntbackup folder.
